I am taking this week's theme from a recent discussion I had with my brother-in-law. We were talking about putting together a desert island mixed tape. What would be the songs you would choose if you were stranded on a desert island and you could fill one mixed tape with music to play.
I putting my own spin on this theme and I am putting together the songs that I would choose to play for aliens. Yep, this is the list of tunes that I would shoot into space in a rocket ship. As poor Ron knows, I am sky watcher. I constantly check the sky for awesome clouds during the day, perfect sunsets and mysterious lights at night.
First, I think the format should be a cassette tape, decorated with a sharpie and include handwritten song titles and artist names in the paper liner. I would send along the tape player too, but, I would break off those little tabs on the top of the cassette so they couldn't record over my tape if they didn't like it.
I am sticking with rock N' roll tunes and ones that I think would properly demonstrate what rock n roll is all about. NOTE: These are in random order.
1. Like a Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
2. No Woman, No Cry - Bob Marley
